Taken on a weekday afternoon after work. Shenzhen summers often have this kind of beautiful cloud layer and sunset glow.
Life is mostly uneventful, so I am jotting down a few interesting things as they come. Published every Monday.
What I Did
Registered a Domain
I registered the domain rhys.im, meaning “I’m Rhys.” I will use it to build a few sites, including this weekly.
The domain is registered for 10 years in one go. I may still stop updating someday, but I hope this small cost can help me keep going in moments when I feel like giving up.
Training Log
This week’s training log:

Mountain Mist
It rained heavily during a trail run on Saturday, and a wide layer of mist appeared across the mountain surface.
At first, I guessed that the cold rain had touched the hot summer mountain surface and turned into white water vapor. Later, after asking Doubao, I learned that it was not actually water vapor. Water vapor is colorless and invisible; the white thing we see is mist made of tiny water droplets.
The principle is cooling and condensation caused by a temperature difference: after rain, the air temperature drops and the mountain becomes cooler and shaded. Warm, humid air meets cold air, and gaseous water condenses into countless tiny liquid droplets.
What I Saw
dmcheck: Domain Availability Checker
https://dmcheck.app/
Domain Availability Checker is a tool for checking domain availability. You can enter keywords and see which domain extensions are still unregistered. I found the domain for this weekly through it.

cmux: A Ghostty-Based Terminal Enhancement Tool
https://github.com/manaflow-ai/cmux
This is very useful for managing multiple agents in parallel. Using AI agents to develop several projects at the same time has become quite common. This tool helps me switch between projects and different AI agent sessions more smoothly.

context-hub: A Dedicated Knowledge Base for Reducing AI Coding Hallucinations
https://github.com/andrewyng/context-hub
A community-curated, versioned API documentation knowledge base built for AI coding tools such as Claude Code. It supports on-demand retrieval, local annotations, and feedback loops. There is also a corresponding Skill that can be used directly.

Laws of UX: Principles of User Interaction Experience
https://lawsofux.com/
This site collects a large number of user interaction experience principles. Reading through these summarized patterns can be surprisingly thought-provoking.

What I Thought About
- Being strict with yourself and lenient with others can sometimes be a form of arrogance. If the starting point is seeing yourself as superior and looking down on others, then using that mindset to be “strict with yourself and lenient with others” is something worth watching carefully.
